<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve picture quality by improving precision of photosensors by correcting temperature and variations and then suppressing a decrease in S/N. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device is equipped with a liquid crystal panel constituted by charging liquid crystal between first and second substrates, a back light 8 which irradiates a surface of the first substrate of the liquid crystal panel with light, an optical detecting means of detecting the illuminance of ambient light, and a lighting control means 12 of controlling the back light 8 according to the detection result of the optical detecting means, and the optical detecting means is equipped with first and second photosensors 21 and 22 provided to the first substrate or second substrate respectively; and the first photosensor 21 is irradiated with at least external light A and the second photosensor 22 is shielded by an external light shielding part 28 from at least the external light A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
