<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibrator in which a driving element is miniaturized, cost is cut, and further sufficient driving force is provided. <P>SOLUTION: An electrode 2 is provided on a facing side of a single rectangular columnar member 1 made of piezoelectric ceramics or piezoelectric single crystal and formed in the predetermined ratio of length and width. An AC voltage is supplied to the electrode 2, and vibrations that respectively occur in the longitudinal and shearing directions are synthesized.
