PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a user to a place suitable for stopping his/her car on a freeway. SOLUTION: A navigation apparatus 100 includes a location acquisition section 101, a fuel residual quantity information acquisition section 102, a distance calculating section 103, a determination section 104, a searching section 105, a questing section 106, a guiding section 107, a communicating section 108 and a presenting section 109. The location acquisition section 101 acquires information of the current location of the car. The fuel residual quantity information acquiring section 102 acquires information of the fuel residual quantity of the car. The distance calculating section 103 calculates a possible travel distance of the car. The determination section 104 determines as to whether the car can arrive at a gas station. The searching section 105 searches a road shoulder when the car travels on the freeway. The questing section 106 quests a route reaching the road shoulder. The guiding section 107 guides the user to the road shoulder. The communicating section 108 requests a fuel supply supporting equipment 150 to feed oil.
