PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive carriage by which an ink cartridge can easily be taken out without providing a special ink cartridge taking-out means. SOLUTION: This carriage 20 comprises an ink cartridge housing chamber 23. The ink cartridge housing chamber 23 is formed in such a manner that the carriage front side walls and the rear side walls of ink cartridges 9a and 9b may be exposed when a cover member 31 is opened.
