PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable frequency adjustment of a piezoelectric vibration device regardless of conditions of the adjusting subject region of a piezoelectric vibrating reed or the state of mounting of the piezoelectric vibrating reed on a base, and to suppress variations in the frequency when the piezoelectric vibration devices are mass-produced. SOLUTION: In steps of coarse adjustment, intermediate adjustment and fine adjustment, adjustment rates of different frequencies are set, respectively. Target frequencies to which the frequency of the piezoelectric vibration device is tuned are set in the steps, respectively. A real rate with respect to the set rate is calculated in the coarse adjustment step, and a variable rate is calculated from the real rate. Adjustment rates of frequencies in the intermediate and fine adjustment steps are modified according to the variable rate. The frequency adjustment time to the target frequencies in the intermediate and fine adjustment steps is calculated according to the modified set rates. Frequencies are adjusted according to the modified set rates during the frequency adjustment time in the intermediate and fine adjustment steps. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
