PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens having preferably corrected various aberrations, while achieving reduction in size, weight and thickness of collapsible barrel. SOLUTION: The zoom lens comprises a first lens group G1 having negative refractive power and a second lens group G2 having positive refractive power in order from an object side. In the zoom lens, when a state of lens group positions varies from a wide-angle end state W to a telephoto end state T, the interval between the first lens group G1 and the second lens group G2 is changed. The first lens group G1 comprises two of a negative lens L11 whose concave surface faces an image side and a positive lens L22 whose concave surface faces the image side in order from the object side and the second lens group G2 includes a positive lens L21, an aperture diaphragm S for determining the F-number and a negative lens component L22 on the image side of the aperture diaphragm S in order from the object side.
