PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing unit which can quickly raise the temperature of the heating roller to a predetermined temperature by efficiently using the heat of the heat source. SOLUTION: The fixing unit includes a heating component 10 and a pressing component. The heating component 10 includes a heating roller 15, a heat source 16, and a pair of heat insulators 22. The heating roller 15 is a hollow cylinder with its both end open. The heat source 16 extends in the axial direction X1 of the heating roller 15. The heat source 16 is inserted into the heating roller 15. Further, a gap is formed between the heat source 16 and the heating roller 15. The inside 17a of the main part 17 of the heating roller 15 communicates with the outside through this gap. The pair of heat insulators 22 are disposed each at the ends of the main part 17 of the heating roller 15.
