PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact hermetic compressor making the width of the outer contour small while maintaining a low noise level. SOLUTION: Since a hermetic vessel 102 is formed to keep curvature of a surface near a delivery muffler is larger than curvature of an opposite surface 178 thereof, stiffness of the surface near the delivery muffler is increased, resonance of the hermetic vessel 102 due to radiation noise generated from the delivery muffler 116 can be prevented and size of the outer contour of the hermetic compressor can be kept small while maintaining noise level.
