PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device for preventing fluctuation in a load of a grip roller due to existence or nonexistence of a paper conveying device to be additionally installed, and reducing the fluctuation in the load of the grip roller. SOLUTION: The image forming device includes the paper conveying device 30 capable of being additionally installed on an image forming device main body, a register roller 20, the grip roller 19 positioned at an upstream side of the register roller 20 for feeding paper sheets fed from a paper feed device to the register roller 20, a drive means for driving the grip roller 19, and an electromagnetic clutch 105 serving as an ON/OFF switching means. The image forming device comprises an output gear 106 disposed on a grip roller shaft, a drive means of the paper conveying device connected to the output gear 106 for driving, capable of being additionally installed, a load mechanism provided so as to be brought into contact with the grip roller shaft, and a mechanism for releasing the load mechanism, thereby reducing the fluctuation in the load.
