The leg model (1) has a thigh (2) and a lower leg (4) moveably connected to the thigh. A muscle model device (6) is provided between the thigh and lower leg, which resists a relative movement of the lower leg relative to the thigh with a counter force adjustable according to a predetermined relationship. Independent claims also cover use of the leg model in testing a vehicle for crashes with pedestrians.
