<p>A method for charging a battery from a complex direct current source, embodying cyclic sequences, each sequence comprising: step charging a storage capacitor from voltage pulses generated from a duty cycle controlled input stage downward said source, a detection of crossing a predetermined voltage threshold above said storage capacitor poles, discharging said storage capacitor into the battery. The method further embodies a maximum power point tracking feature (MPPT) comprising: sampling the precharge time as a means for indirect measurement of the instant power throughput, varying the duty cycle (PWM) of the switching signal as a means for controlling the average input impedance of the charger.</p> |
