<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the adhesion of a lubricant to a charging device and hereby prevent the occurrence of an abnormal image. <P>SOLUTION: An image area ratio is calculated for each one dot line (A, B, ..., X, Y, Z) in the vertical scanning direction for an image that is written optically with an optical writing device. The image area ratio is "k=100*i/j(%)" where "i" is the number of output dots to the number of effective pixels "j" of one dot width in the vertical scanning direction. Each image area ratio thus calculated is compared with the predetermined reference value "1". With regard to the one dot line in the vertical scanning direction of which image area ratio is found to be less than the reference value by the comparison, the optical writing with the optical writing device 4 is controlled in such a manner that more toner than the amount of the toner given to a photoreceptor in the image formation is given to the photoreceptor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
