<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can improve the precision for discriminating recording materials. <P>SOLUTION: The kinds and the discrimination threshold variations of the recording materials are correlated with each other and stored in a memory 309. The kinds of the recording material supplied to the image forming device is discriminated in the main controller 306.
