<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognition device and an image recognition method, with which work efficiency can be improved by reducing work loads for formation or data management of image recognition data. <P>SOLUTION: In the image recognition method for recognizing the chip of a recognition object, by pattern matching of a recognition image containing an image of the chip offset in a rotating direction with a template, a reference image in which the direction of the image of the chip is matched with a reference direction is formed, and a specific part of the recognition object is cut out from the reference image and registered as a reference template. In recognition operation, the reference template is rotated by an offset angle, to form a recognition execution template, a reference search area corresponding to the reference template is converted to a converted search area for recognition execution, and pattern matching of the recognition image with the search area for recognition execution is performed by raster scanning within the converted search area, whereby the position of the chip is recognized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
