PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line head which enables high-definition printing, and is compact and high in assembling productivity, and to provide an inkjet printing apparatus. SOLUTION: The line head has a plurality of head modules staggered and attached to a common supporting substrate. The head module is a combination of n heads (n is an integer not smaller than 1) with head chips equipped with a common nozzle plate in which two ink droplet ejection substrates with a plurality of pressure generation means arranged are attached to each other. A nozzle pitch of the head module of the line head is 1/(2n) of a nozzle pitch of the ink droplet ejection substrate.
