PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of executing proper image compression through the expression of a color change and a luminance change in an image with a numerical formula requiring only a small data amount. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 1 disclosed herein includes: a means 2 for electronically photographing an object; a means for storing an image photographed by the photographing means; and a control means 4 for displaying the stored image. Moreover, the imaging apparatus 1 includes: a means for detecting the color change and the luminance change in the image in an optional direction by each element, searching a digitized table as to respective color and luminance information items, and replacing the color and luminance information items with numerals; and a means that generates regression formulae to which the x and y variables are assigned wherein the variable x comes from the number given to each element and the variable y results from each of the digitized information items.
