PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat light source device emitting light with uniform distribution of brightness. SOLUTION: The flat light source device 200 has a first substrate 210, a second substrate 220, and light source bodies having inside space for sealing discharge gas between the first substrate 210 and the second substrate 220. One or more of barrier ribs 221a for separating the inside space into a plurality of discharging spaces 240 are formed. The second substrate 220 has bulged parts 221b formed in a shape of bulging outward at the part where the discharging spaces 240 are formed. Out of the plurality of bulged parts, radius of curvature at outside of the bulged part located at outermost position is formed so as to become larger than that of the bulged parts located in between.
