PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a better speech corresponding to user's subjectivity by changing a threshold value in response to a volume control operation. SOLUTION: In an echo suppression circuit, a comparison value R between a receive volume level Sa and a transmit volume level Sb is compared with a prescribed threshold value by a level control means 13C of an echo suppression circuit 13 and on the basis of the comparison result, increase/decrease in a receive attenuation amount Da and a transmit attenuation amount Db is instructed to a receive level adjusting means 13A and a transmit level adjusting means 13B. At the same time, threshold values Th1, Th2 are changed in response to a volume control operation for controlling the volume of a received voice output from the receive level adjusting means 13A.
