PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image forming method capable of obtaining excellent image quality without deforming screen angles. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus and the image forming method being an image processing apparatus and an image processing method for correcting and processing inclination information of received image data include: a position acquisition section (step) of acquiring positional information denoting a position of the image data; an inclination correction section (step) of receiving inclination correction information of the image data on the basis of the positional information acquired by the position acquisition section and correcting the image data; and a dither processing section (step) of applying dither processing to the image data after being subjected to the inclination correction.
