PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal of an overlap type capable of efficiently outputting sound in both a closing state and an opening state. SOLUTION: The mobile phone (mobile terminal) 101 includes a speech reception case 102 including a projection 118 at one end; a speech transmission case 103 including a recessed part 119 to one end of which the projection 118 is inserted and incorporating a notification speaker 125, wherein the speech reception case 102 and the speech transmission case 103 are configured openably/closably by pivotably connecting the projection 118 into the recessed part 119, and a space T2 exists between the projection 118 and the recessed part 119, a sounding port 107k for outputting sound from the notification speaker 125 is formed to a recessed part wall face 119b forming the space T2, the pivoting between the speech reception case 102 and the speech transmission case 103 is restricted in the open state, and a stopper section 150 for closing one side end of the space T2 is provided.
