<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct backlight device capable of reducing power consumption by reducing the number of used linear light sources and having a sufficient degree of luminance uniformity. <P>SOLUTION: In this direct backlight device 1, direct light from linear light sources 10 and reflected light emitted from the linear light source 10 and reflected by a reflecting plate 20 are diffused and radiated by a light diffusion plate 30, and the emitting direction of the diffused and radiated light is adjusted by a prism sheet 40. On a surface of the light diffusion plate 30 on the prism sheet 40 side, a first prism array 31 having a plurality of triangular prisms 31A extending nearly in parallel with the longitudinal direction of the linear light sources 10 is formed. In the first prism array 31, flat surfaces 31B nearly in parallel with a surface of the light diffusion plate 30 on the linear light source 10 side are formed and the flat surfaces 31B are formed at positions corresponding to areas located immediately above the linear light sources 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
