摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device which is capable of reduction in power consumption and can be manufactured in high yield. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal device includes a plurality of scan lines 3a (first wiring) and a plurality of data lines 6a (second wiring) extended so as to cross each other and a plurality of insular electrodes arranged correspondingly to respective intersections between the scan lines 3a and the data lines 6a, and pixel electrodes 9 being a part of the plurality of insular electrodes belong to an effective display area 110 for image display to constitute display pixels 111, and the other insular electrodes 119 belong to a dummy area (peripheral area) 110b placed in the periphery of the effective display area 110a to constitute dummy elements 112, and the insular electrodes 119 belonging to the dummy area 110b is insulated from the scan lines 3a and the data lines 6a.
