PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the necessity for correcting the time of a password generation device, and to properly perform control relating to password generation according to the precision of a measured time. SOLUTION: When a time for correcting time has come (step A1; Yes), or a time for instructing time correction is detected (step S5; Yes), a radio controlled clock 4 corrects a time based on a time code included in a standard radio wave (step S3). Also, when a password generation instruction is detected (sep S4; Yes), the radio controlled clock 4 generates one-time password (step S9), and when a correction elapsed time has not passed a predetermined time or more, the radio controlled clock 4 generates the password based on the current time, and when the correction elapsed time has passed the predetermined time or more, the radio controlled clock 4 generates the password based on an externally input challenge code.
