PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil ameliorating fertilizer having excellent soil amelioration effect and promoting the growth of a plant, and a plant cultivation method using the soil ameliorating fertilizer. SOLUTION: The soil ameliorating fertilizer consists of a carbon material prepared by bringing carbonized material 9 obtained by carbonizing a raw material 5 of plant origin into contact with an acid solution 12 and imparting an anion adsorption function to the material, or contains the carbon material.
