<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing an optical glass in which the variation of the refractive index is large due to the evaporation of components, particularly for producing the optical glass having a low glass transition temperature (Tg) and suitable for precision press molding. <P>SOLUTION: The process for producing the optical glass comprises the step of charging a raw material regulated in advance so that a property of outflowing molten glass falls within a desired range into a continuous melting type glass melting unit including outflow of molten glass through an outflow opening.
