PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a storage capacity necessary for the backup or restoration of data, and to simplify the history management of the backup of data, and to increase the usability of a user more than a conventional manner. SOLUTION: When a plurality of pieces of restoration information are recorded in the restoration information storage area of a storage means, at least two pieces of restoration information are merged to generate one piece of new restoration information, and restoration information which becomes unnecessary when generating the new restoration information is deleted from the restoration information storage area of the storage means.
