PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensor unit capable of detecting light from a plurality of detection object areas and a head-up display device provided with the same. SOLUTION: An optical sensor unit 20 comprises; Fresnel lenses 21 and 22 which condense light L1 (light from front) impinging from a front area and light L2 (light from above) impinging from an upper area; a half mirror 23 which reflects the front light L1 and transmits the upward light L2 to guide both of light L1 and L2 in the same direction, out of the convergence lights transmitted through the Fresnel lenses 21 and 22; a light reception element 24 which receives the upward light L1 and outputs a light reception signal Sa corresponding to the quantity of received light; and a light reception element 25 which receives the light L2 and outputs a light reception signal Sb corresponding to the quantity of received light.
