PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to reduction of the total weight of a cylindrical hydraulic shock absorber through reduction of weight of constituent parts. SOLUTION: This cylindrical hydraulic shock absorber has a cylinder body 1, a rod body 2 linked to the cylinder body 1 so as to come in and out, and a piston body 3 stored slidably in the cylinder body 1 while held in a tip holding part 2a of the rod body 2 to form a rod side oil chamber R1 and a piston side oil chamber R2 in the cylinder body 1.
