PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punch press in which an adequate quantity of working fluid is automatically supplied corresponding to the diameter size of a punch die. SOLUTION: In the punch press, a shut-off valve 17 with which a connecting circuit is freely connected and interrupted is provided on a connecting circuit for supplying the working fluid and also a valve control device 25 for controlling the operation of the shut-off valve is provided. The antenna of a reader 29 for reading the data of an ID tag which is provided in the upper part of the punch die is provided on a striker 3. A valve controlling device 25 for controlling the opening and closing time of the shut-off valve 17 on the basis of the data read by the reader is provided with a discriminating means 31 for discriminating the diameter size of the punch die from the data signal of the ID tag read by the reader 29, a data table 33 in which the relationship between the diameter size of the punch die and the opening/closing time of the shut-off valve is stored and an opening/closing time control part 35 for controlling the opening/closing time of the shut-off valve 17 on the basis of the data of the data table 33.
