The invention provides a hydrogen production device which is protected from malfunction resulting from the crushing of a particulate reforming catalyst and lowering in the reforming efficiency resulting from lowering in the heat transfer efficiency of a catalyst section, namely, a hydrogen production device which comprises a catalyst section (50) containing a particulate reforming catalyst (P) and a combustion section (5) for heating the catalyst section (50) and in which a hydrogen-containing reformed gas is produced by flowing a steam-containing raw material gas through the catalyst section (50) in the extension direction, wherein the catalyst section (50) is provided with a partition (40), which is placed along a partitioning cross-section of the catalyst section (50) perpendicular to the extension direction thereof and has venting holes (40D) having such a shape as to prevent the particulate reforming catalyst (P) from passing through, and an aperture having such a shape as to permit the passage of the catalyst (P) is formed in the partitioning cross-section of the catalyst section (50). |
