CASE FOR OPTICAL DISKS

The invention relates to a case for optical disks. The inventive case is made from a rectangular prismatic tray comprising a thin sheet of aluminium having a layer of soft, elastic material (10) affixed to the base thereof, the latter serving as a padded support for the disk to be protected. A cylindrical projection (11) extends from the centre of the aforementioned layer, said projection being made from an identical- or similar-type material to that of the layer and being suitably dimensioned such that it can be pressure-coupled in the hole in the disk. The aforementioned tray is equipped with a cover (6) which is made from a thin sheet of aluminium and which is articulated with one of the edges of the tray. The opposing edge of the cover is provided with a bent flange (9) that serves as a clip when the cover is closed in relation to the corresponding edge (3) of the tray, said edge (3) taking the form of a cylindrical tube. The two edges of the tray that adjoin the aforementioned edge (3) are flat and bent orthogonally upwards, while the articulated edge between the cover (6) and the tray also has a cylindrical configuration.
