<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical access system changeover method and an optical transmission system capable of switching from the existing media converter system to a PON (Passive Optical Network) system efficiently without any failure. <P>SOLUTION: In this optical access system changeover method, an optical coupler 42 with connector connected to a PON master unit 41 is installed in an optical communication carrier station, when a media converter on the subscriber side is replaced with a PON slave unit, an edge of the optical communication carrier station of the existing media converter core wire which connects the station side media converter 11 and the subscriber side media converter by one-to-one is detached from the station side media converter 11 and connected to the optical coupler 42 with the connector. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
