<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge tube capable of preventing or reducing any drop in the mercury vapor pressure caused by convergence of a mercury onto a certain position, and to provide a light source unit or an indicating device using the discharge tube. <P>SOLUTION: In a discharge tube 1, a mercury is encapsulated into a tube 11 and an electrode 12 is attached near both ends of the tube 11. Many mercury reservoirs 14, which have linear materials formed in spirals and a capacity to store the mercury, are provided at almost regular intervals between the two electrodes 12 attached to the tube 11. The light source unit or indicating device with built-in discharge tube 11 is provided with a temperature control means to adjust a temperature of the mercury reservoirs 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
