PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is free from a fear of pollution therein and therearound by toner scattering, which is caused by careless handling, when replacing a waste toner recovery vessel, or the like. SOLUTION: A copying machine 1 includes a cleaning part 104 for removing untransferred toner from a surface of a photoreceptor drum and a waste toner recovery part 109 replaceably provided with a recovery vessel 1091 for recovering toner removed by the cleaning part 104, and the waste toner recovery part 109 is so configured that the toner recovered into the recovery vessel 1091 is liquefied by heating the toner by a heat roller 1071 as a heating means while agitating it by an impeller 1093 as an agitating means.
