PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improvement of a load control unit which can be connected to a network and enables a user to remotely control installed appliances, and enables a user to perform ON/OFF operations of the individual load such as illumination appliances with an operating switch when the operating switch is externally attached. SOLUTION: The operating switch SW has a contact point 14 for selectively switching and connecting first and second switching terminals 15a and 15b to a common electrode 16 to be connected to the individual load S1. A control relay 13 has first and second control contact points RY1 and RY2 to be each opened and closed by a load communication control section 11, between the first and second switching terminals 15a, 15b and a common connection point 17 connected to a power feeding terminal T1. The unit is provided with a control means for capturing the opened/closed states of the first and second control contact points RY1 and RY2 with a predetermined timing, and forcibly switching the contact points RY1 and RY2 to an opened-closed or closed-opened state when the first and second control contact points RY1 and RY2 of the control relay 13 are in the same opened or closed state.
