PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device used for generating light by using microwaves without having undesired radiation and reduced in size and weight. SOLUTION: This light emitting device 10 has a structure provided with: a light emitter 12 filled with a gas emitting light by microwaves; a high-frequency power supply part 30 having a diamond SAW oscillator 40 for outputting a high-frequency signal output from the diamond SAW oscillator 40 to a subsequent stage; and a waveguide means 20 for radiating the high-frequency signal input from the high-frequency power supply part 30 toward the light emitter 12 as microwaves.
