PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive cargo handling machine with a simple constitution capable of enhancing working efficiency with simple operation. SOLUTION: The cargo handling machine is provided with a lifting mechanism 5 vertically movably constituted and retaining and lifting a cargo 7 by a clamp mechanism 8; a pneumatic cylinder 20 for driving the lifting mechanism 5 by a pressure of air fed from an air source 21; and a control circuit 24 for controlling action of the clamp mechanism 8 and a flow rate and a pressure of air fed/discharged to the pneumatic cylinder 20 based on command from an operation box 9. A clamp-known load balance button 91, a clamp-unknown load balance button 92 and a descending-unclamping button 93 are provided on the operation box 9 as automatic control switches and a plurality of processes are continuously performed based on the command by operation of these switches.
