POLYESTER CORE-SHEATH CONJUGATE FIBER AND ITS FABRIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester core-sheath conjugate fiber having a highly color-developing elution type hollow cross section structure with excellent quality appearance having good yarn-making process and good removal stability of a core component. SOLUTION: The polyester core-sheath conjugate fiber contains a polyethylene terephthalate copolymerized with 0.1-3 mol% 5-sulfoisophthalic acid metal salt as a sheath component and contains a polyethylene terephthalate copolymerized with 4-5.5 mol% 5-sulfoisophthalic acid metal salt as the core component. In the conjugate fiber, a part of the core component is exposed on the surface of the fiber in fiber lateral cross section and the modified cross section degree satisfies formula (1): 1.5≤A/B≤3.3 (wherein A is a diameter (μm) of an inscribed circle of the core component in the fiber cross section; and B is an opening width (μm) of the sheath component in the fiber cross section).
