PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery capable of controlling the projecting length of a tab film from an outer packaging to the necessary lowest limit and facilitating the fitting of a protection circuit or the like. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the sealed battery contains a process fitting a current collecting tab having such structure that a current collecting tab body in a planned portion to position in a tab projecting sealed part is bonded to the tab film and a current collecting tab body in a tip side part other than the planned portion and its vicinity is not bonded to the tab film to positive and negative electrodes, an electrode body preparing process preparing the electrode body with the positive and negative electrodes to which the positive and negative current collecting tabs are fit, a process forming a tab projecting sealed part by projecting the positive and negative current collecting tabs to the outside of the outer packaging, housing the electrode body in the outer packaging made of a laminate film, and heat bonding an outer packaging opening part from which the positive and negative current collecting tabs are projected, and a process cutting and removing only the tab film in a portion projecting from the end part of the outer packaging and not bonded to the current collecting tab body.
