PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform focusing operation according as it is in the daytime and it is at night in a lens driving device applied to an on-vehicle camera or the like. SOLUTION: The lens driving device is equipped with a lens frame 20 holding a lens G and supported to freely move in an optical axis direction L, and a switching mechanism switching the lens frame 20 to different positions in the optical axis direction L relative to an imaging device 80 arranged behind the lens G and focusing it. The switching mechanism switches the lens frame 20 to a first focusing position where the lens is focused relative to a visible light beam, and a second focusing position where the lens is focused relative to infrared light. Therefore, the lens frame 20 (lens) is moved to the first focusing position when taking a photograph in a visible light beam region in daytime, and the lens frame 20 (lens) is moved to the second focusing position when taking a photograph in an infrared region at night. Thus, an excellent photographic image is obtained in the day time (wavelength region of the visible light beam) and at night (wavelength region of the infrared light). COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
