PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the degree of freedom in designing and assembling work efficiency. SOLUTION: A sensor unit 20 and an encoder 3a are mounted at a side axially opposite to a knuckle 14 with respect to a fixed-side flange 9 and rolling elements 8, 8 at an axial outer side. Thus the work for assembling the sensor unit 20 in an outer ring 1a after assembling a rolling bearing unit including the outer ring 1a in the knuckle 14, becomes unnecessary.
