PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinylpyrrolidone-based polymer composition which improves the stability of a vinylpyrrolidone-based polymer and inhibits the decrease in molecular weight (K value) caused by shearing stress. SOLUTION: The vinylpyrrolidone-based polymer composition is obtained by comprising 1-10,000 ppm of one or more compound selected from the group consisting of guanidines and the vinylpyrrolidone-based polymer, and further, comprising 1,000-30,000 ppm of 2-pyrrolidone and 1-5,000 ppm of ammonia.
