PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swiveling type clamp cylinder capable of easily increasing the speed of clamping/unclamping operation of workpieces and fitting a long clamper to a piston rod. SOLUTION: In a rod cover 5, pin members 19 are rotatably fitted to a plurality of mounting holes 18 provided so as not to cross the axis line CL of the piston rod 11, respectively. Engagement quantity L of the pin members 19 with guide grooves 14 for swiveling in the axis line CL side of the piston rod 11 in the pin members 19 is set larger than that in the side opposite to the axis line CL side of the piston rod 11. Outer peripheral faces 21 in the side opposite to the axis line CL side of the piston rod 11 are supported by the inner faces of the mounting holes 18 over the approximately total length. Thus, excessive load and impact can be received by the pin members 19, and increase in the speed of the clamping/unclamping operation and fitting of the long clamper 12 to the piston rod 11 can be easily performed.
