PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stirring apparatus which can rapidly and uniformly stir and mix fluid of a wide viscosity region from high viscosity to low viscosity in a whole tank. SOLUTION: The stirring apparatus is equipped with an upper stirring blade section and a lower stirring blade of a planar shape disposed at a stirring shaft. The upper stirring blade section is equipped with a plurality of steps of a pair of upper stirring blades which are constituted by providing the plurality of upper stirring blades along a peripheral direction of the stirring shaft at predetermined spacings and with inclination of an predetermined upward angle toward a rotational direction of the stirring shaft. Corresponding upper stirring blades of respective steps are respectively disposed at positions where the upper stirring blade of an upper step is superposed on the upper stirring blade of a lower step in a longitudinal direction so that a lower side of the upper stirring blade at a lower stage can be seen from a lower side of the upper stirring blade at an upper stage and further an angle from an upper side of the upper stirring blade at an uppermost step till a lower side of the upper stirring blade at a lowest stage to a rotational direction around the stirring shaft is smaller than 180°.
