PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive all terrestrial digital broadcasts including one-segment broadcasting and output data.

SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a broadcast receiving apparatus for decoding and displaying broadcast data encoded by one encoding scheme from a broadcasting system wherein broadcast data encoded by different encoding schemes are multiplexed and distributed, wherein connection to an external connection device is detected and when it is detected by the detection that the broadcast receiving apparatus is connected to the external connection device, broadcast data encoded by another encoding scheme are output to the external connection device.
