<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display screen significant for a progress of proceedings when participants are projected even in a video conference on the assumption of a network style in which any multipoint control unit is not provided. <P>SOLUTION: Information on at least one kind of designated display position on a display, managerial position, age and speech order is stored in advance for each participant of a video conference and on the basis of said information, for each participant of the video conference, it is determined which position on the display the participant is to be displayed.
