PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image synthesis apparatus capable of easily printing a desired composite image.

SOLUTION: A printer 100 is provided with an image acquiring section 101, a frame acquiring section 102, a selection operating section 103, an image synthesis section 104 and a composite image display section 108. The image acquiring section 101 acquires image data of a desired image. The frame acquiring section 102 acquires a frame image to be synthesized to the image to decorate the image. The selection operating section 103 selects the image data acquired by the image acquiring section 101, image data to be synthesized from among the frame images acquired by the frame acquiring section 102, and a frame image, respectively. The image synthesis section 104 generates a composite image of the image data and the frame image which are selected by the selection operating section 103. The composite image display section 108 displays the composite image generated by the image synthesis section 104 on a screen.
