<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage system having a control module for controlling a plurality of disc storage devices capable of isolating abnormality of a plurality of disc devices and a transmission path. <P>SOLUTION: When the control module 40 for controlling the plurality of the disc storage devices 1-1 to 1-4 accesses the appropriate disc storage device, and detects an error, it performs dummy access to the plurality of the disc storage devices in the transmission path 2-1, and specifies a suspect part of failure from results.
