<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for selecting a δ-endotoxin variant having improved effect on a target insect. <P>SOLUTION: The method for selecting a toxin protein variant having increased insecticidal activity to the target insect comprises the preparation of a toxin presentation phage to express an insecticidal toxin protein by a T7 phage in the form bindable to its receptor, the selection of a toxin presentation phage having a binding affinity to a carrier by using a carrier bound with the receptor, and the selection of a variant having increased binding affinity to the receptor by using the system. An insecticidal composition contains the variant as an active body, and a vermin-resisting plant contains a gene encoding the variant and introduced into the plant in an expressible manner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
