PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic relay in which adjustment of operation characteristics of the electromagnetic relay is easy and extension of lifetime of contacts is realized, and which is capable of responding to low power consumption. SOLUTION: A permanent magnet 23 of a movable block 5 is arranged toward a yoke 16b which is a magnetic pole portion of operation side, while the free end of a yoke 16a which is a magnetic pole portion of return side is extended, and the magnetic pole face opposed to an iron piece 22 of the movable block 5 is made larger than the magnetic pole face opposed to the iron piece 22 of the yoke 16b on operation side, thereby the width of attraction force characteristics is made wide.
